Album Notes & Community Reviews

Jagjit Singh's first LP, assigned by HMV the year before and composed by Singh himself, pairs his voice with his wife Chitra Singh's, the first successful husband-and-wife team in ghazal. Its blend of modern instruments with sarangi and tabla broke deliberately with orthodox ghazal rendition and set new sales records, on a program that includes Firaq Gorakhpuri's 'Bahut Pehle Se Un Kadmo Ki Aahat'.
