Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Freedom Together!' highlights Jaki Byard's unusually broad jazz language, moving between hard bop, stride-derived gestures, vocal elements, and freer ensemble passages. His work from this period is often valued for collapsing historical jazz styles into a single, unpredictable performance approach.
