Album Notes & Community Reviews
On his debut as a leader, pianist Jaki Byard immediately unveils an eclectic, encyclopedic mastery of jazz history. 'Here's Jaki' transitions fluidly between stride piano elements, straight-ahead hard bop, and avant-garde dissonance, signaling the arrival of a fiercely original and unpredictable musical intellect.
