Album Notes & Community Reviews

James Blake's sophomore album 'Overgrown' sees him expanding his post-dubstep sound into more structured, soulful songwriting. Featuring collaborations with Brian Eno and RZA, the album balances sub-bass heaviness with gospel-inflected vocals and delicate piano. It is a melancholy, nocturnal record that solidified Blake's position as a bridge between bass music and modern R&B.
