Album Notes & Community Reviews

Deliberately stepping away from the intense, rhythmic funk he was pioneering, the legendary singer recorded this relaxed session of traditional jazz standards. Accompanied largely by the Dee Felice Trio, the crooning performances highlight a sophisticated, frequently overlooked facet of his expansive vocal capabilities.
