Album Notes & Community Reviews
Featuring the backing of the legendary J.B.'s鈥攊ncluding Bootsy Collins鈥攖his release captures the Godfather of Soul at the peak of his polyrhythmic funk powers. The title track and 'Talking Loud and Saying Nothing' are relentless, sweaty exercises in groove, while 'King Heroin' provides a stunningly bleak, spoken-word anti-drug narrative. It is an absolutely essential document of early 70s rhythm and blues innovation.
