Album Notes & Community Reviews
With 'Newborn', the James Gang welcomed guitarist Richard Shack into the fold, attempting to inject fresh energy into their established hard rock formula. Produced by Tom Dowd, the record smooths out some of the band's gritty edges by incorporating subtle yacht rock and southern blues elements, though it failed to restore their earlier commercial momentum.
