Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released during a period of marital strain with Carly Simon—who inspired the album's defensive title—'Dad Loves His Work' finds James Taylor continuing his pursuit of polished, adult-contemporary pop-rock. The hit duet 'Her Town Too', featuring J.D. Souther, anchored the record's commercial success, epitomizing the era's breezy yacht rock sensibilities[cite: 1].
