Zitro

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Issued by the uncompromising ESP-Disk label, 'Zitro' is the sole leadership date from drummer James Zitro, embedded deep within the New York free jazz underground. The recording features an aggressive, high-energy quintet navigating entirely spontaneous, unscripted group improvisations. It remains a raw, visceral document of the late-60s avant-garde, prioritizing collective sonic exploration over traditional melodic structures.
