Album Notes & Community Reviews

Keyboard virtuoso Jan Hammer steers his fusion ensemble into deeply accessible, R&B-influenced territory with 'Melodies'. The album notably features lead vocals on several tracks, moving away from purely instrumental gymnastics toward infectious, synthesizer-heavy funk grooves. It perfectly captures his increasing interest in pop structures that would later define his iconic 1980s television soundtrack work.
