Album Notes & Community Reviews
Pianist Jan Johansson, widely celebrated for his melancholic adaptations of Swedish folk music, continued to push the boundaries of Scandinavian jazz with this eclectic release. The album incorporates sophisticated large-ensemble arrangements and subtle avant-garde sensibilities while maintaining his distinctively lyrical, crystalline touch on the piano. It stands as a profound testament to his artistic ambition shortly before his tragic passing.
