Album Notes & Community Reviews

Composed entirely by Serge Gainsbourg following their romantic separation, the album frames Jane Birkin's fragile vocal delivery against grand, melancholic classical arrangements. The deeply personal lyrical themes and sweeping orchestration mark one of the creative peaks of their enduring professional partnership.
