Maria

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing a marked shift towards expansive, jazz-infused pop arrangements, 'Maria' finds Canadian singer-songwriter Jane Siberry backed by a highly sophisticated, improvisational ensemble. The album features sprawling, intricately textured tracks including a twenty-minute conceptual centerpiece, actively challenging traditional pop-rock structures. It operates as a deeply romantic, fiercely ambitious highlight of her uniquely poetic catalog.
