Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Steve Albini, the second solo album from the legendary Pulp frontman takes a surprising pivot toward raw, muscular garage rock. Recording largely live in the studio, the tracks feature heavy, driving guitar riffs that contrast brilliantly with Cocker's witty, hyper-literate lyricism addressing middle-aged lust and existential dread. It provided a remarkably energetic and cynical revitalization of his solo career.
