Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring legendary saxophonist Sam Rivers alongside the pianist's established trio, 'Black Stars' is a masterful bridge between generations of avant-garde jazz. The recording captures incredibly tense, highly technical acoustic interplay that seamlessly weaves post-bop structure with fiery, chaotic free improvisation.
