Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded in Germany alongside a top-tier European rhythm section featuring Niels-Henning 脴rsted Pedersen, 'Sunday Walk' solidifies Jean-Luc Ponty as a premier modernist on the violin. The post-bop compositions showcase his astonishing technical facility and ability to translate complex, horn-like phrasing onto a stringed instrument. It serves as a vital bridge between his straight-ahead jazz origins and his impending pioneering role in jazz-rock fusion.
