Rendez-vous
by Jean Michel Jarre
Composed to commemorate both the 25th anniversary of NASA and the 150th anniversary of Texas, this sweeping electronic suite is heavily defined by its tragic historical context. The final track was originally intended to feature a saxophone solo recorded in orbit by astronaut Ron McNair, who perished in the Challenger disaster before the performance could take place.
