Suite for Max Brown

The veteran Tortoise guitarist constructs a loving instrumental tribute to his mother, whose photograph adorns the album cover. He uniquely records hours of live ensemble improvisation and subsequently chops, loops, and manipulates the audio into groove-heavy, digital jazz fusion. The project seamlessly bridges organic spiritual jazz with the production techniques of instrumental hip-hop.
