Jeff Rosenstockā€™s solo debut, 'We Cool?', confronts anxieties about aging and adulthood with a blend of explosive power-pop and chaotic punk anthems. The album juxtaposes themes of existential dread and depression with upbeat, anthemic choruses, frenetic energy, and urgent, often-strained vocals. A cleaner, punchier production compared to his previous work allows layers of piano, synthesizers, and horns to complement the tightly arranged guitars and driving rhythms.
