Album Notes & Community Reviews
Sourced from late 1968 residencies at the Fillmore East and West, this release showcases the San Francisco sextet transforming their concise studio pop into heavy, muscular improvisations. The driving rhythm section of Jack Casady and Spencer Dryden propels the dense, intertwined vocal harmonies and searing guitar work into expansive new territories. It stands as a powerful testament to the band's formidable, aggressive live prowess during the peak of the psychedelic counterculture.
