Album Notes & Community Reviews

The first official release under the 'Jefferson Starship' moniker, this album marks a successful transition from 1960s psychedelic rock to a more muscular, arena-ready sound. Featuring Grace Slick's soaring vocals and the return of Marty Balin on the hit single 'Caroline', the record balances intricate instrumental jamming with highly melodic, commercial songwriting. It successfully launched the next highly lucrative phase of the band's career.
