Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded primarily at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman enlists a staggering roster of legendary session musicians, including Ringo Starr, Beck, and Benmont Tench. The album provides a pristine, 1970s-indebted soft rock sheen that masks deeply autobiographical lyricism concerning a dissolved long-term relationship and the death of her mother. It is an impeccably crafted, emotional triumph of adult-contemporary pop.
