Album Notes & Community Reviews

Collaborating closely with emerging production pioneers Gamble and Huff, the incredibly smooth vocalist established the sophisticated template for the impending Philly Soul explosion. The immaculate, string-drenched arrangements provide the perfect counterpoint to his famously cool, restrained delivery, generating massive crossover hits like 'Only the Strong Survive'.
