Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'On Your Own Love Again,' Jessica Pratt crafts a series of dreamlike and experimental folk songs centered around her distinctively soft, multi-tracked vocals and intricate fingerpicked guitar. The album's signature lo-fi aesthetic, a result of being self-recorded on a four-track machine, imparts a timeless and intimate quality that underscores the songwriting's focus on loneliness and emotional uncertainty. Touches of electric guitar, organ, and subtle tape-speed manipulations add a discreet psychedelic layer to the otherwise sparse and acoustically-driven arrangements.
