Recorded partially live in Neil Young's coffeehouse, the Alaskan songwriter's debut is a surprisingly raw, remarkably intimate collection of acoustic folk-pop. Initially a slow seller, her incredibly distinctive, yodeling vocal delivery and deeply earnest, observational lyricism eventually struck a massive chord during the mid-90s female singer-songwriter boom. Propelled by the ubiquitous smash hit 'Who Will Save Your Soul', the record slowly climbed to diamond-selling status.
