The third solo album by the My Morning Jacket frontman deliberately embraces a raw, unpolished aesthetic inspired by Duane Michals' photography series 'The Illuminated Man'. The project relies heavily on fuzzed-out guitars and distortion to convey an uplifting, yet playfully chaotic energy that contrasts his typically pristine production.
