Hey Leroy, Your Mama's Calling

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Propelled by its highly infectious, Latin-tinged title track, this debut album showcases Jimmy Castor's unique fusion of jazz, pop, and heavy Afro-Cuban rhythms. The saxophonist and vocalist leans heavily into the boogaloo craze sweeping New York City, blending tight horn arrangements with irresistible, dancefloor-oriented percussion. The record laid the groundwork for his legendary funk and disco output in the ensuing decade.
