Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Fast Fingers' is the debut album by Mississippi-born Chicago guitarist Jimmy Dawkins, cut after fellow West Side guitarist Magic Sam brought him to the attention of label owner Bob Koester. Its taut, brooding playing won the Grand Prix du Disque from the Hot Club de France, fixing the nickname Dawkins carried for the rest of his career.
