Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Five Feet of Soul' teams blues shouter Jimmy Rushing with players including Al Cohn, Snooky Young and Zoot Sims, in a small-band setting far from the big band front line he made famous. Rushing, known as Mr. Five by Five, had been Count Basie's featured vocalist from 1935 to 1950 and remained the defining voice of Kansas City blues singing.
