Album Notes & Community Reviews
Originally recorded in 1963 but held back for release, 'I'm Movin' On' captures the reigning king of the Hammond B-3 organ driving a tight, aggressive quartet. Featuring phenomenal guitar work from Grant Green, the session leans heavily into deep, bluesy vamps and relentless, swinging grooves. The album serves as a definitive showcase of the gritty, highly accessible soul jazz aesthetic pioneered by Blue Note.
