Album Notes & Community Reviews

Jimmy Smith's 'Peter & the Wolf' adapts Sergei Prokofiev's familiar children's work into a jazz setting centered on Hammond organ and large-ensemble arranging. The album reflects Verve's interest in presenting Smith beyond the small-combo soul-jazz format that had defined much of his earlier reputation.
