Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing his unparalleled status as a sophisticated urban blues shouter, Jimmy Witherspoon is backed by an incredibly tight, jazz-inflected rhythm section. The album effortlessly straddles the line between Kansas City jump blues and relaxed, late-night jazz club sophistication. It is a prime example of his smooth, booming vocal power navigating swinging, brass-accented arrangements.
