Dark Energy

Jlin's debut album, 'Dark Energy', deconstructs Chicago footwork's rhythmic conventions, replacing common sample-based hooks with original, complex percussion and unsettling sound design. Producer Jerrilynn Patton builds a tense and visceral atmosphere through stark, polyrhythmic drum programming and sparsely used, mangled vocal clips, creating a sound that is both abstract and powerfully physical.
