Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Steve Lillywhite, this commercially and critically triumphant record firmly drags the acoustic singer-songwriter into the bold sonic landscape of the 1980s. Bolstered by prominent synthesizers, reggae inflections, and an aggressive rhythm section led by Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, it features some of her most assertive vocal performances[cite: 1].
