Album Notes & Community Reviews

Vocal avant-garde pioneer Joan La Barbara pushes the boundaries of human vocalization on her deeply experimental album 'Reluctant Gypsy'. Utilizing extended vocal techniques, multiphonics, and subtle tape manipulation, she crafts immersive, drone-heavy ambient soundscapes consisting entirely of her own voice. The record is a challenging, mesmerizing staple of modern 20th-century classical experimentation.
