Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Divers', Joanna Newsom's signature harp and intricate vocal delivery are set against meticulously layered arrangements that incorporate orchestral passages, clavichords, and Mellotrons. Co-produced by Newsom and Noah Georgeson and partly engineered by Steve Albini, the album's complex lyrical narratives confront themes of love, mortality, and history within a notably more compact and accessible song structure than her prior work.
