Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking his first album explicitly featuring his own vocal performances, Jo茫o Donato's 'Lugar comum' is a cornerstone of mid-1970s Brazilian music. Collaborating heavily with lyricist Gilberto Gil, Donato shifts from his instrumental jazz-bossa origins to embrace a heavily rhythmic, tropical MPB sound colored by funk and soul.
