Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning to the studio with a remarkably intimate approach, the legendary pioneer of bossa nova strips back his sound to bare acoustic guitar and his unmistakable whisper-quiet vocals. 'Jo茫o' largely eschews elaborate orchestrations to highlight the subtle rhythmic complexities and harmonic sophistication that defined his revolutionary 1950s output, subtly reinforced by Clare Fischer's subdued arrangements on select tracks.
