Album Notes & Community Reviews

Seeking a strong commercial comeback, the iconic English vocalist paired his signature gravelly voice with slick, synthesizer-laced adult contemporary production. 'Civilized Man' features a roster of top-tier session musicians and polished soft-rock arrangements tailored for FM radio. While diverging from his gritty R&B roots, the polished sound successfully stabilized his career in the MTV era.
