Album Notes & Community Reviews
A seminal work of the loft jazz scene and a fiery, funky call for liberation. 'Nation Time' is a high-energy masterpiece that blends the cathartic intensity of free jazz with the deep grooves of R&B and funk. Recorded live, the album captures the raw, ecstatic energy of McPhee's ensemble and stands as a powerful statement of Black consciousness and a key document of the spiritual free-funk movement.
