Album Notes & Community Reviews

Utilizing groundbreaking multi-tracking techniques and profound extended saxophone methods, the British improvisational master delivers a haunting solo performance. '13 Friendly Numbers' layers incredibly subtle key clicks, multiphonics, and resonant overtones, transforming the acoustic saxophone into a vehicle for dense, almost electronic-sounding drones. The technically astounding record radically expanded the vocabulary of unaccompanied horn improvisation.
