Album Notes & Community Reviews

Imbued with a somber, intensely reflective atmosphere, this recording eschewed the bombastic arena rock of the era for a largely acoustic, roots-oriented approach. It remains a critically heralded snapshot of rural American desperation and personal crisis from one of the genre's most prominent storytellers.
