Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by soul music veteran Steve Cropper, this album served as a crucial commercial stepping stone for John Mellencamp, still operating under the label-enforced 'Cougar' moniker. The record blends accessible AOR pop-rock with the blue-collar, heartland rock sensibilities that would soon define his massive mainstream success, yielding the hit singles 'This Time' and 'Ain't Even Done With the Night'.
