Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Cate Le Bon, John Grant's fifth solo album is a sweeping, autobiographical journey tracing his transition from a conservative Midwestern upbringing to his adult life in Europe. The record contrasts heavily arpeggiated, dark analog synthesizers with his rich baritone voice and remarkably vulnerable, often sarcastic lyricism. 'Boy From Michigan' functions as an expansive, deeply personal critique of the American Dream and personal trauma.
