Album Notes & Community Reviews

Adopting a sharper, more aggressive sonic profile, 'Slug Line' marks John Hiatt's conscious pivot from traditional roots songwriting to jittery, new wave-infused power pop. The album is characterized by its cynical lyrical bite and driving, stripped-down guitar arrangements, perfectly capturing the anxious energy of late-seventies rock. It stands as a fascinating transitional document for the revered singer-songwriter.
