Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fusing infectious tribal percussion with massive glam-rock guitar hooks, 'Kongos' achieved significant commercial success fueled by a highly distinctive, rhythmic sound. The production relies heavily on booming, repetitive drum patterns and triumphant vocal choruses that cut through the standard singer-songwriter mold. Its innovative use of African-inspired rhythms heavily prefigured later world-pop fusions.
