Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released by Vee-Jay Records, this album captures John Lee Hooker backed for the first time by a full Detroit rhythm and blues band, featuring members of the Funk Brothers. This electric, horn-accented approach provided a surprisingly driving, urban backdrop to his typically lethargic, idiosyncratic Mississippi boogie style.
