Album Notes & Community Reviews

Orrin Keepnews produced the intimate acoustic session, pairing the Mississippi bluesman with bassist Sam Jones. The unamplified format forced a rare structural discipline upon his typically erratic, idiosyncratic boogie timing, focusing attention entirely on his narrative vocal delivery.
