Album Notes & Community Reviews

Scottish singer-songwriter John Martyn fully immersed himself in the polished production aesthetics of the 1980s with 'Sapphire'. Heavily utilizing drum machines and lush synthesizers, the album recontextualizes his signature slurred vocal delivery and fluid guitar work into a slick, atmospheric sophisti-pop framework.
