Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing his drumless, acoustic-oriented experiments, the British blues pioneer enlisted a shifting cast of virtuosos, including bassist Larry Taylor and saxophonist Johnny Almond. The deeply introspective sessions feature intricate, low-volume arrangements that heavily emphasize the interplay of acoustic guitar, flute, and melancholic vocal phrasing. It represents a highly reflective, intimate period in his extensive discography.
